The city becomes a stage with performances as unique as the varied venues in honor of our newest federal holiday.
NEW ROCHELLE, NY — New Rochelle is once again pulling out all the stops for Juneteenth celebrations this year.
The Lincoln Park Conservancy (TLPC), a 501c3 organization, has been partnering with the City of New Rochelle for the past three years to bring Juneteenth programs to the New Rochelle community. According to Linda Tarrant-Reid, the Executive Director of TLPC, the historic celebration has been getting bigger and bigger each year, with this year’s citywide, month-long celebration having 18 community organizations and institutions participating.
While several Juneteenth events have already taken place this month, there’s still a lot more ahead in the next few weeks, including the TLPC Juneteenth Celebration 2023: History Out Loud! on Monday, June 19, from noon – 6 p.m.
